Getting Started
Frequently Asked Questions
How do I create a PDF from photos? Use Camera Roll, Take Photo, or Scan from Home, arrange your pages, then create the PDF. Processing happens on your device.
Why can’t I share? You’ve used your free shares. Unlock Photos to PDF Pro (lifetime, one-time purchase) for unlimited sharing. You can also Restore purchases in Settings if you already bought Pro.
How do I restore a purchase? Open Settings → Restore purchases. Make sure you’re signed into the same Apple ID used for the purchase.
What is iCloud Backup? When enabled, Photos to PDF stores a snapshot of your library in your iCloud account (CloudKit). This does not require iCloud Drive. PDF passwords in Keychain are not included in the backup.
I deleted the app and my documents are gone. Can I get them back? Only if you had successfully backed up to iCloud before deleting the app. Reinstall, stay signed into the same Apple ID, and wait for restore — or use Settings → Restore from iCloud. If no backup existed, local documents cannot be recovered.
iCloud Backup says unavailable. • Sign into iCloud on the device (Settings → [your name]) • Confirm your iCloud account is available for CloudKit • Force-quit and reopen the App • Try Back up now again Simulator iCloud/CloudKit can be unreliable; a physical device is best for testing.
How do I lock a PDF with a password? From the PDF options / document actions, set a password. Passwords are stored in the iOS Keychain on your device and are not included in iCloud backup.
Does Photos to PDF need an account? No. We don’t require you to create an account with us. Purchases and iCloud features use your Apple ID.
Where is my data stored? Your photos, PDFs, folders, and signature stay on your device. Optional iCloud Backup stores a snapshot in your Apple iCloud account. We do not run our own servers that receive your documents.
Does Photos to PDF work offline? Yes for creating, editing, organizing, and viewing PDFs. Sharing needs a share destination. iCloud Backup and Restore need a network connection and an available iCloud account. Purchases need the App Store.
What’s included in Pro? • Unlimited sharing (including multiple PDFs) • iCloud backup so you don’t have to worry about losing your library • One-time unlock — no subscription
